Do you love to play golf? If you are wanting to learn, or just enjoy watching this fantastic sport- Frisco, Texas is the newest hotspot that will not disappoint!

PGA of America’s headquarters is already under construction in far Northwest Frisco. The sprawling 660-acre complex is expected to complete construction in the Fall of 2022 and has already secured the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in 2023 and more. And, despite all the hurdles that the pandemic threw its way, the public-private partnership of the PGA, Omni Hotels & Resorts, the City of Frisco, and the FISD (Frisco Independent School District) have stayed true to their commitments.

It is exciting to have the global spotlight on Frisco…again. The PGA Frisco campus will be a fun and valuable addition to the Frisco community.

About the PGA Frisco Complex

If you’ve always dreamed of playing on a championship golf course, this is your chance. The PGA Frisco campus will include not one but two championship courses as well as shorter courses and practice areas. New to the game? The PGA has you covered! Everyone from professionals to beginners will find something exciting at the PGA Frisco courses. The 10-hole short course offers an excellent entry point for new golfers to experience this great game. Lead architects Gil Hanse and Beau Welling designed the master plan to welcome the public and enable fans to experience golf in a whole new way.

“Each and every time that I am in Frisco, my excitement for the potential of PGA Frisco only continues to grow,” said Beau Welling, Founder/CEO, Beau Welling Design. “The opportunity to create a course that can challenge the best players in the world yet remain a fun and special experience for beginners, amateurs, professionals, and families alike is very unique. There is no doubt that PGA Frisco will make a major impact on our wonderful game not only here in Texas but across the country.”

PGA Frisco Programs

More than just a place to play golf, the new PGA headquarters complex will also house the national player development and coaching program open to local youth in partnership with Frisco ISD. These school programs will provide classes and educational opportunities people will travel across the country to take advantage of, and we have them in our own backyard! Dr. Mike Waldron, the Frisco ISD superintendent of schools, believes this is an exciting opportunity for young golfers of Frisco and will make a big difference in their extracurricular options. “This partnership takes student opportunity in Frisco ISD to an even higher level. These facilities will give our students the chance to explore the possibilities and chase their dreams.”

PGA’s Economic Growth Impact for Frisco

This next step in Frisco’s growth is sure to have a dramatic impact on our local economy and way of life. “That’s [the campus] a tremendous benefit to our residents, students, and visitors who will not only enjoy playing the courses but be thrilled to see the championship golf.” -Mayor Jeff Cheney, City of Frisco.

The economic impact of the $520-million project could top $2.5 billion over the next 20 years, which means approximately 1000 new jobs, expanded tourism, and international acclaim.

PGA Omni Resort

It wouldn’t be a PGA headquarters without a little… *spice*. Enter the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. Because of course, this incredible campus wouldn’t be complete without a world-class resort and hotel for the new home of modern golf in America. With over 500 rooms and all the best services and amenities (including a 127,000 square-foot conference center, retail village, and parks and trails), you’ll be planning your vacations as staycations right here at home in Frisco. Our Frisco community and visitors from across the globe will enjoy the PGA Omni Resort facilities.

Coming Next

If you are looking forward to being a spectator to some of the best golf events in the world, you won’t have to wait long. The PGA has established a timeline to host over 20 championships in the next 12 years, further anchoring Frisco and the PGA’s commitment to ushering in a new era of American golf on Texan soil.
