Your Family Will Enjoy a “Legendary” Experience At Texas Legends Home Games

The ball will always bounce your way whenever you and your family enjoy a “legendary” experience at a Texas Legends’ home game at Dr. Pepper Arena on Warren Parkway in Frisco.

The Dallas Mavericks’ D-League (the “D” stands for “development”) team, whose motto is “Where fun happens, and basketball too”, has combined a fun-filled carnival atmosphere with the enjoyment of a professional basketball game.

As a result, you and your children will be amazed and amused each time you visit Texas Legends Court at Dr. Pepper Arena.

For example, the renowned “Kidtastic Zone” and “Razzle Dazzle Zone”, located at both end zones of the court, will keep youngsters entertained. Presented by Jumper Bee Entertainment, the Zones provide young Legends fans of all ages a chance to be a part of the fun, and are free!

Your youngster can join the in-game hosts — Ashley, and Django — for a variety of fun-filled games and events throughout the game. Both you and your child even have the opportunity to be filmed by a camera technician that projects the action onto the big-screen TV’s throughout the arena.

All activities are closely supervised, and Jumper Bee personnel keep things new and refreshing by changing events and games for each Legends home contest. The exciting games include extreme sports, rock wall climbing, bouncy boxing, four-way tug-n-go, riding a mechanical bull and playing on a giant twister board.

The Zones include many inflatable games from slides and bounce houses to racing through an inflatable obstacle course. There are also photo booths, photo buttons, carnival games, stilt walkers, magicians and many more surprise guests.

Every D-League basketball game is accompanied by compelling music that pulsates throughout the arena and enhances the experience. The basketball action is jam-packed with eye-popping athleticism provided by former collegiate and European players who are working hard to earn an opportunity to play in the National Basketball Association.

The Legends offer a number of unique Premium Experience packages, including Premium suites that offer first-class amenities and personal services, as well as courtside suites and seats that put you right near the thick of pro basketball action.

Courtside suites are located in close proximity to the hardwood where all of the action unfolds, while courtside seats also enable you to feel every bounce pass, basket, rebound and blocked shot produced by the ultra-athletic competitors.

These premium seats include access to the Platinum Lounge, located on the concourse level behind section 121. This sports bar-oriented location offers a full-service bar, high top tables with bar stools, leather reclining sofas and tables where you can enjoy premium food and drinks from a deluxe buffet.

The Legends franchise is a member of the 19-team Development League in the four-team Southwest Division (including Oklahoma, Rio Grande Valley and Austin Spurs) of the circuit’s Western Conference. Like the Legends, each team is affiliated with an NBA franchise.

The franchise, previously known as the Colorado 14ers, relocated to Frisco in time for the 2010-11 D-League season. Nancy Lieberman (the first woman to lead a men’s pro basketball squad), former Houston Rockets’ coach Del Harris and ex-Mavericks player Eduardo Najera have mentored the team prior to current Legends coach and former NBA star Nick Van Exel.

NBA teams can assign players with less than three years of service to their NBA D-League affiliates an unlimited number of times throughout the season. The NBA team maintains the assigned player’s rights and can recall that player at any time.

During the 2013-14 season, 56 players were assigned to the NBA D-League — including 14 first-round picks from the 2014 NBA Draft — numbering an all-time high 195 times.
