The smell of hamburgers sizzling on the grill, the sound of laughter drifting from the pool, and a hearty cheer perfectly timed with the clinking of frosted beer mugs…

 

4th of July celebrations are a great way to usher in the dog days of summer with a bang. If you love celebrating America’s freedom with a few hundred of your closest friends while watching spectacular colorful explosions in the sky, you are in the right place.

 

We have pulled a list together of some of our favorite 4th of July events and firework displays to help you plan your upcoming firework forays. Bang, bang, let’s go!

 

Our Favorite 4th of July Events & Fireworks Shows

 

Monday, July 3rd

 

Kaboom Town  Addison Circle Park, 4970 Addison Circle, Addison, TX

This nationally recognized fireworks display continues to rack up awards for one of the top places to watch fireworks in the country. The amazing light show is visible from anywhere in Addison and surrounding areas.

 

A 30-minute light show is choreographed to music on 100.3 JACK FM and the event includes great food, live music and even an airshow from Addison Airport, featuring the Cavanaugh Flight Museum Warbird Flyover. Kaboom Town is one of North Texas’ most popular shows so plan on arriving early and expect heavy traffic.

 

Red, White, & Boom on the Bridge Ronald Kirk & Margaret Hunt Hill Bridges, Dallas, TX

Watch fireworks explode across the beautiful Dallas skyline from the Ronald Kirk and Margaret Hunt Hill Bridges. With music simulcast from 98.7 KLUV, this event kicks off at 6 pm with live music, family activities and plenty of mouth-watering food from local food trucks. Event location is Continental Bridge- 109 Continental Ave., Dallas, TX 75207.

 

Frisco Freedom Fest Hotter n’ Firecrackers 5K Run Frisco Square, Frisco, TX

As a prelude to the Frisco fireworks show on the 4th, join your neighbors for some laughs and nail-biting drama of the Dachshund Races. Then, throw on your running shoes and fluorescent gear for the 5k run. Watch runners light up the night as they streak through Simpson Plaza at Frisco Square decked out in LED lighting and running to the beat of electronic music. Packet pick-up for the 5K run is from 10am-4pm on 7/3, with event festivities starting at 6 pm and the 5k run starts at 9 pm.

 

Tuesday, July 4th

 

Frisco Freedom Fest Mike Simpson Plaza, Frisco Square, Frisco, TX

The Frisco Freedom Fest is back and better than ever. Starting at 4 pm on 7/4, the Party in the Plaza gets the action going with live music from the Community Stage, lots of fun activities and games for the kids at The Children’s Expo, and a special tribute to Frisco’s finest from the Frisco police and fire departments at the Hometown Heroes exhibit.

 

Keep your eyes and ears on the Community Stage for a packed schedule of live music and dance performers all evening, including performances from the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue Dancers and headline performer Jordan Kahn Music Company. Then, take a break from the dancing and activities to satisfy your taste buds at Taste of Frisco with delicious and tempting fare and drinks from some of Frisco’s finest eateries.

 

After the FC Dallas vs. D.C. United match at Toyota Stadium, sit back and watch the brilliant Fireworks Extravaganza light up the Frisco sky. The fireworks display will start approximately 10 pm from Toyota Stadium and can be seen from just about any vantage point in Frisco.

 

2017 Independence Fest Bakersfield Park, Flower Mound, TX
Independence Fest in Flower Mound is doing it up right with activities starting at 5 pm and featuring free Kid’s Zone, a vintage car show, lots of delicious food and drink, and top entertainment. The 2017 Independence Fest musical entertainment features local favorite Le Freak and the headline performance by none other than GRAMMY-nominated country duo Brothers Osborne.

 

The fireworks show kicks off at 9:50 with Brothers Osborne taking the stage right after the fireworks. The location is 1201 Duncan Lane, Flower Mound, 75028. Free admission.

 

Red, White, and BOOM! McKinney, TX

McKinney shows off their patriotic spirit with events starting at 10 am in downtown McKinney including a parade through historic downtown, block party, and a vintage car, truck and cycle show. Plus, there’s lots of dining and shopping at famed downtown area establishments.

 

The fun continues at the McKinney Soccer Complex at Craig Ranch at 5:30 pm featuring family entertainment and a concert by Prophets and Outlaws at 8 pm. The fireworks begin at 9:45 pm. Location for the Soccer Complex is 6375 Collin, McKinney Pkwy, McKinney, TX.

 

Fireworks Extravaganza over Lake Grapevine Grapevine, TX

What better way to enjoy fantastic displays of light than over the water? Lake Grapevine offers many vantage points from around the lake to enjoy the show for free. Pick a spot and drop the tailgate- Texas style. Fireworks kick off at 9:30.

 

Liberty by the Lake The Colony, TX

For more fun on the lake, head over to Stewart Creek Park, 3700 Sparks Rd in The Colony for a full day of fun beginning at 11 am and featuring lots of great food, family entertainment, a watermelon contest and live music from The Bard Groove Project and The Tin Man Band. Fireworks kick off at 9:30 pm.

 

And, if you are up for a little drive on the 4th—here are a few more notable events to check out:

 

Fair Park Fourth Fair Park, Dallas, TX
Starting at noon on July 4th, Fair Park offers fun for the family including the games, rides, and concessions in the Midway.  Fireworks kick off at 9:45 with seating inside the Cotton Bowl. Admission to Fair Park is free, but access to the Midway runs between $5-$7.

 

Fort Worth’s Fourth Panther Island Pavilion, Fort Worth, TX
Enjoy the day with event activities starting at 2 pm. Enjoy live music, tubing the Trinity River, a kid’s zone, fly board shows throughout the day, and even an F-16 flyover scheduled for 8 pm.

 

The event is free and the ‘largest firework show in North Texas’ is scheduled to start at 10:00 pm. Parking and VIP passes include fees. Panther Island Pavilion is located at 395 Purcey Street, Fort Worth, TX 76102.
