Allen is located 24 miles north of Dallas and is located between Plano and McKinney along U.S. 75 (Central Expressway). DFW Airport is a quick 32-mile drive via The Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH121).
The Allen Independent School District cultivates innovation in education and strives to empower every learner to realize their full potential. This district encompasses most of city and includes portions of other the cities such as McKinney, Plano, and Parker. The school district is known for having the largest high school in Texas and is home to the Allen Eagles Football Team. This team is well known for winning numerous state championships (2008, 2012, 2013 and 2014). The $60 million stadium is considered the grandest in Texas and the team is currently on a long winning streak.

Other retail and dining spots are The Village at Allen and well known Allen Premium Outlets that are already a shopping destination for out-of-towners.
The Allen Event Center, a 6,275 fixed-seat multi-purpose arena, is home to the Allen Americans (ECHL), Texas Revolution (Champions Indoor Football League) and the Dallas Sidekicks (Major Arena Soccer League). The center also hosts the Lone Star Conference Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships.
Play golf? The Courses at Watters Creek is a public golf course owned by the City. It appeals to a broad spectrum of skill levels. Twin Creeks is another well known public golf course.
