Looking for fun holiday things to do with family and friends?  Frisco is the place to enjoy the holiday season. Whether you are looking for fun things to do with the kiddos, want to get inspired by seasonal music and décor, or want to strap on your Santa hat and sneakers to help a good cause, it’s all right here in Frisco.

 

Take a break, sip some eggnog, be captivated by awesome light and music shows, and enjoy the season in our winter wonderland town. We’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite things for our friends and neighbors.

Festivals, Parades & Events

Christmas in the Square -Frisco Square- Now through January 1, 2017

One of our seasonal favorites! Experience the largest choreographed holiday lights and music show in North Texas, back for its 12th year. Over 175,000 lights, choreographed music, and plenty of activities to take the Scrooge out of anyone.  Enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides, snow flurries, and even an outdoor ice skating rink. Special Event night is on December 17th and features extra activities for the whole family.

 

Merry Main Street– Tree Lighting, Frisco Square- Thursday, December 1st, 6pm; Merry Main Street Indoor Activities- Saturday, December 3rd, 5-8pm

Inclement weather revised schedule includes the outdoor tree lighting ceremony being moved to 12/1, while the ‘Mini Main Street’ indoor activities get moved to inside City Hall on 12/3/16. Mini Main Street includes the Kids Holiday Store, holiday treats and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

 

Winter Wonderland– Dr. Pepper Ballpark- Friday, December 9th, 4-10pm

The Frisco RoughRiders and Toys for Tots kick off their inaugural Winter Wonderland event featuring carriage rides, Vocal Magic carolers, as well as visits by Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their reindeer. Even watch some of your favorite Christmas classics on the huge RiderVision screen. Admission is free but don’t forget to bring an unwrapped toy to donate to Toys for Tots.

 

Santa Sightings, Children Activities & Pets

Photos with Santa– Stonebriar Center- Now through December 24th

Say “cheese”!  It’s time to capture those great memories with a photo with Santa. Photo center is located at the Sears court, reservations are accepted but not required. Santa’s Workshop– Westin Stonebriar Hotel- Sunday, December 4th, 12-2pm

Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for a delicious brunch buffet, photos with Santa, toy building activities in Santa’s Workshop, Reindeer Games, crafts and special performances of the Nutcracker, magicians and more. Tickets are $35 per adult and $25 per child.

 

Pet Pictures with Santa– LazyPaw Animal Hospital, Saturday, December 3rd, 2-5pm

Our pets need a little Santa time too! Bring your favorite fur-baby for pics with Santa. LazyPaw Animal Hospital is also collecting non-perishable and canned goods for Frisco Family Services.

 

Holiday Lights – Frisco Fire Safety Town- Friday, December, 9th

Explore the mini-town all decked out with hundreds of holiday lights and listen to live musical performances.

 

Breakfast with Santa & Holiday Market– Lebanon Trails High School, December 10th, 8:30-10:30am breakfast, holiday market 8am-12pm

What a great way to start the day with breakfast with Santa! Tickets are $10 and include breakfast, photos with Santa and entrance to holiday market.

 

Sugar Plum Fairy Tea – Westin Stonebriar, Sunday, December 11th, 3pm-5pm

North Texas’ most exciting children’s holiday event. The Sugar Plum Fairy Tea features delectable desserts, a riveting story Fun-Holiday-Things-to-do-Frisco-Judi-Wright-Teamtime, a Nutcracker character parade, and excerpts from The Nutcracker performed by the Collin County Ballet Theatre Youth Ensemble. Tickets start at $40.

 

Santa Comes to 4th Street– Municipal Court Building, December 18th, 5:30-9:30 pm

It’s outdoor movie time! Bring your chairs and blankets and get ready to cuddle in for a classic holiday movie, Home Alone. Movie location is behind the Municipal Court Building at Frisco Square.

 

Polar Express Family Movie Night– Frisco Public Library, Monday, December 19th, 6:30 – 8:00 pm

All aboard!  It’s time for family movie night at the Frisco Library to watch Polar Express. Gather the family, blankets, and pillows for a holiday movie and treats.

 

Music & Theatre

The Nutcracker Performed by The Frisco Ballet, Reedy High School- December 10th, performances at 3pm and 6pm

Frisco Chorale’s Positively Christmas Concert– Frisco City Hall, Saturday, December 10th, 7-8pm

Favorite holiday selections by Frisco’s own Frisco Chorale.

 

Cirque Musica Holiday Spectacular– Dr. Pepper Arena, Saturday, December 17th, 7:30pm

Experience a celebration of the holidays as the cast of Cirque Musica performs incredible feats of strength, skill, and grace to great holiday music favorites performed by Dallas POPS.

 

Frisco Chorale’s Christmas Concert– Frisco High School, Saturday, December 17th, 4pm

The Frisco Chorale and Plano Civic Chorus join with the Plano Symphony Orchestra for a night filled with seasonal music.

 

 

Get Moving for a Good Cause

11th Annual Frosty 5K & Merry Mile– Simpson Plaza, Frisco Square, December 10th, 8:00 am start for Merry Mile, 8:30 am start for Frosty 5K

Grab your sneakers and favorite holiday costume and join in the fun. The race is chip-timed with plenty of awards and merriment to go around. A portion of the proceeds from the race will be donated to S.O.A.R. (Scholarship Opportunities for Activities and Recreation) Charitable Fund. Registration and entry fees required.

Ugly Christmas Sweater Shop– Frisco location now open, Mon-Sat’s, 10am-9pm, Sundays 12-6pm.

What would the holidays be without ugly sweaters? We say it would be boring! Find just the right ugly sweater to make all your friends say ‘ugh’!  The Frisco location is now open at the Preston Ridge Shopping Center just north of Stonebriar Center. Time to get your ugly on for lots of grins and giggles.
