Enjoy the cooler weather this fall with food, events & entertainment close to home

 

Ah, the dog days of summer will soon be behind us and it’s a great time to start planning your fall activities. In Frisco, there’s plenty of things to do this fall and we’ve made a list of a few of our favorites.

 

September: Fall Events & Entertainment in Frisco

 

Sept 14, Saturday – Otsukimi Moon Viewing Festival– Frisco Square, Frisco

Enjoy the full autumn moon and Japanese music, haiku, art, dance performances and cultural activities including special performances of koto, Japanese drums, and more. Admission is free and the event runs from 6 pm – 9:30 pm.

 

Sept 14, Saturday – Frisco CAN Block Party– Frisco neighborhoods

Get outside and enjoy your neighbors, plus mix and mingle with the Mayor, City Council members, the Frisco police and fire department. Frisco CAN is a community awareness event designed to help Frisco neighborhoods safer. Each neighborhood is invited to register your block party to participate in this community-wide event.

 

Sept 21, Saturday – Market at The Star xFleastyle – The Star in Frisco

Shop till you drop at this fun and eclectic open-air market featuring over 80 booths jampacked with fashion, jewelry, home décor and other unique lifestyle goods.  If shopping makes you hungry or thirsty, just pop into one of The Star District’s many local restaurants or bars for refreshment.

 

Sept 21, Saturday – Hall of Fame Induction Concert Weekend, National Soccer Hall of Fame, Frisco

A night of celebration for the anniversary of the opening features OneRepublic, The Fray, and Frisco’s own Maelyn Jarman, winner of “The Voice”, Season 16. Gates open at 6 pm, ticket prices vary.

 

Sept 20-22, Fri, Sat & Sun – Plano Balloon Festival – Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve, Plano

While technically not in Frisco, this can’t-miss event is close enough to home to enjoy and features the awe-inspiring hot-air balloon launch, balloon glow, fireworks show, balloon rides, races, live entertainment by Moving Colors Band, and plenty of great food & festival fun. The event runs from 4 pm – 10 pm on Friday, 6 am – 10 pm on Saturday, and 6 am – 7 pm on Sunday. Tickets are $5 – $20 and free for kids 36 inches and under.

 

Sept 28, Saturday – Frisco OktoberFest– Frisco Square

Frisco is getting in on the German festival fun with its inaugural event featuring  German cuisine, live music and polka dancing, a bratwurst eating contest, and plenty of cold bier. The festival is free to the public and family friendly.

 

Sept 28, Saturday – Shawnee Trail Cowboy Day – Frisco Heritage Museum

Throwback to the ole days with this fun, family friendly experience showcasing stagecoach rides, Old West Gunfights, armadillo races, pony rides, a petting zoo, plus refreshments from food booths. Admission is free and the fun runs from 11 am – 4 pm.

 

Sept 28, Saturday – Industrial Rodeo – Industrial Cigar Co, Frisco

Benefiting the Texas Veterans Outdoors, Mane Gaite, and Warriors and Rodeo, the Industrial Cigar Co is hosting an evening of fun featuring mechanical bull riding competition, pony rides for kids, live music by local artists, and plenty of food and games. Ticket prices vary and the event runs from 5 pm – 11 pm.

 

October: Fall Events & Entertainment in Frisco

 

Oct. 5, Saturday – Frisco Arts Walk & Run – Texas Sculpture Gardens

Indulge your love of art at this immersive arts-themed 5K along the beautiful grounds of Hall Park. Walk or run your way through sculptures, pop-up music, theatre and dance performances. The Frisco Arts Walk & Run is family-friendly, free to the public and runs from 8:30 am – 2pm.

 

Oct. 11-12, Fri & Sat – Camp Craig Allen Annual Amateur BBQ Cookoff & Music Fest – Toyota Stadium

Enjoy live music, live and silent auctions, BBQ competition, kids’ area and more. Proceeds go to the Camp Craig Allen benefiting ‘overlooked’ physically disabled adults, children, and Veterans of North Texas. Friday event runs from 5pm – 11 pm and features an adult-only Casino party. Saturday’s BBQ cookoff event for the whole family is from 10am – 6pm. Tickets prices $10 – $25.

 

Oct 11, Saturday – Brunch @ the Ballpark – Dr. Pepper Ballpark, Frisco

Get your brunch on and enjoy DFW’s best chefs, restaurants and food trucks, plus ‘adult beverages from 30+ breweries & cideries, a 30-foot Bloody Mary Bar and lots of games and entertainment. For guests 21 and over, ticket prices vary, event runs from 11 am – 3pm.
